Gold Medalist from Nair Hospital Mumbai, Dr. Bhattacharyya is one of a small number of ENT surgeons in India to have completed dual specialist fellowships in the United States — in Rhinology & Skull Base Surgery at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Louisiana State University. He is fully licensed in both India and the USA.
His surgical philosophy is defined by precision, minimal tissue disruption, and evidence-based decision-making. He leads the Minimal Access ENT Division at Sparsh Hospitals alongside his independent clinic at HSR Layout.
A career built across three countries — India, Ireland, and the United States — and brought back to Bangalore to raise the standard of ENT care.
Graduated with Honors and Distinction from Madras Medical College before earning his M.S. in ENT as the national Gold Medalist (84.8% GPA) from Topiwala National Medical College, Mumbai. His pursuit of surgical excellence took him to the USA, where he completed specialist fellowships in Rhinology & Skull Base Surgery (Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, 2017–2019) and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (Louisiana State University, 2019). He also holds MRCS (ENT) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland.
Recipient of the prestigious Stammberger-Tarabichi Scholarship in Endoscopic Sinus & Ear Surgery, Dubai — selected from over 500 international applicants. Also awarded the International Young Fellow Scholarship by the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery (2018). He is an active Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society (FARS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and serves as Best Resident Award recipient from Topiwala National Medical College.
Author of 11 peer-reviewed publications in prominent ENT and surgical journals, and Editor of the Atlas of Operative Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery: Rhinology and Anterior Skullbase Surgery (JP Medical, Philadelphia). His pioneering research on Invasive Fungal Sinusitis and Facial Palsy has been presented at premier forums including the North American Skull Base Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Annual Meeting.
